Wedding Season!

Last weekend, I had the honor of standing next to one of my dearest friends, Katie, as she married her best friend, Sam.  It was the best weekend.  I had the day off on Friday to go to the Bridesmaids’ Luncheon at Puffy Muffin and then to the Nail Bar in Cool Springs with all of the Bridesmaids for mani/pedi time!!  It was so much fun hanging out with the girls and of course, the beautiful bride!

On Saturday, we met at A Moment’s Peace in Cool Springs to get our hair done and then it was on to the church to get ready! The ceremony was beautiful and as soon as it was over, we took a few more pictures then headed for a fun night out at Sambuca!!  We had absolutely the best time at the reception and the unofficial after-party at Loser’s!  I have looked at the pictures so many times this week - we had so much fun and I am so happy for Katie and Sam!!

Crystal and me before the ceremony!

Goals for April.

These should have been my goals for March but time got away from me.

1.) Blog three times a week.  I hope to actually do more than this, but I believe in starting with attainable goals.

2.) Meal plan.  Lord have mercy, groceries are expensive.  Even with coupons. TRIPLE coupons at Harris Teeter.  No, I’m not an extreme couponer, but I am on a budget. Word on the street is that the best way to save money is buy meal planning.

2.5) This one is 2.5 because it goes along with meal planning.  It’s my goal to try at least one new recipe from Pinterest a week.  I’ve got more than 400 in my stockpile waiting for me with new ones added all the time, so I’m actually going to start trying them!

Fear of birds.

Not so little known fact:  I’m scared of birds.  I will scream like a child if one comes close to me.  I have witnesses.  This afternoon, Joey called to tell me that he was cutting the yard and four wild turkeys strolled by our house.  Not going to lie, I was a little afraid to come home and get out of the car.  Well, I came home, we cruised the neighborhood, but didn’t find them.  Twenty minutes later, I’m sitting on the couch, looked out the back door and started screaming bloody murder.  The turkeys were back, and they were In. My. Yard. So, what did I do? Hide behind Joey and take pictures.  I also took a good video, in which I’m breathing so hard and saying curse words under my breath, if you closed your eyes, you’d think you were watching The Blair Witch Project.

Learning to Blog.

Last night, my BFF and I took a “Learning to Blog” class with one of my favorite local home and style bloggers.  I can create a blog, and when I say I can create a blog, I mean I can sign up on a website for a blog, but I struggle to make it pretty and find topics to write about that other people would find interesting.  But I’m going to give it a whirl.  One of the instructors said that Tumblr is the latest, greatest and easiest platform to use, which is why I’m here.  Easy peasy.  Now let’s see if I can get a background going on up in here.
